American Cancer Society and Kaaawasaki Art Lab Seeking Superheroes Mascot

Love to draw?! You can create a superhero mascot to fight breast cancer with the American Cancer Society Hawaii.

The American Cancer Society is calling all artists to create the first breast cancer superhero mascot for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!  Artists from Kaaawasaki Art Lab will be the judges of the contest, and the winner will see their illustration come to life! The winner’s three-dimensional superhero will make its debut at American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on 10/26 at Ke’ehi Lagoon Park.

On September 12th, students from Nanakuli High and Intermediate kicked off the contest with the Kaaawasaki Art Lab and American Cancer Society at the Ala Moana Micosoft Store to begin sketching designs.

Students learned drawing techniques from the founders of Kaaawasaki Art Lab.

Drawing submissions (with a suggested $10 donation) can be brought to our ACS office at 2370 Nu’uanu Street from now until 10/12. Good luck to all the artists! We can’t wait to see your creativity come to life this October!
