After being nominated by American Cancer Society’s Board Chair, Sharon Crofts, ACS was chosen by Bank of Hawaii as one of 25 beneficiaries in their employee giving campaign. Employees at BOH are proud to strengthen the communities where they live and work. ACS Community Development Managers (CDMs) participated in the Beneficiary Expo & Carnival, which allowed them to engage with bank employees and share more about the great work ACS is doing in the community.
The miniature Hope Lodge was a huge draw- the CDMs turned it into a game where guests could stick their hands inside and extract a fact card which included an opportunity to win a prize!
The expo was also a time for food, festivity, fun and games including a Pie-In-Your-Face challenge with BOH employees squaring off with each other to raise funds for the beneficiaries. Last year, the Live Kōkua Giving Campaign raised a record-breaking $760,132 to benefit 23 nonprofits. Follow this blog to stay up-to-date on this year’s total!
