Almost 4000 Hawaii residents came together on October 22nd at Ke’ehi Lagoon Beach Park for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk and raised nearly $185,000 to help create a world free from the pain and suffering caused by breast cancer.
“The October 22nd event was a moving example of passion in action,” said Michelle Hashimoto, Community Manager, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. “Our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk ensures no one faces breast cancer alone by bringing the community together, funding innovative breast cancer research, promoting education and risk reduction and providing comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.”
The 2016 Hawaii walk was made possible in part by the generous support of these sponsors: Hawaii News Now, iHeart Media, Brett Hill Construction, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union, The Hawaiian Electric Companies, AlohaCare, Avis Budget Car Rental, City Mill, Kaiser Permanente, The Cancer Center of Hawaii, Clinical Labs of Hawaii, Pali Momi Medical Center, GEICO, and Cycle City Hawaii.
