Colon Cancer Awareness Month: Eat A Rainbow Cooking Demonstrations

The American Cancer Society Hawaii Pacific is getting ready for the return of our popular Eat a Rainbow cooking demonstrations.  These demonstrations are offered to the public to raise awareness of colon cancer during March, which is Colon Cancer Awareness month.

Colon cancer can actually be prevented through screening. Polyps can be removed before they turn cancerous. Screening can also improve survival chances dramatically – colon cancer’s survival rate is 90 percent when found early.

Besides screening, there are other measures that men and women can adopt to help reduce their risk of colon cancer.

Eating a healthy diet can help you stay well and reduce your risk of colon cancer and other cancers.  The American Cancer Society, in partnership with local health care systems, chefs and nutritionists, is pleased to present free Eat A Rainbow cooking demonstrations to the public during the month of March.  Learn to cook a rainbow of of colorful vegetables and fruits, and eat your way to good health.

Get started today and learn some healthy recipes!
